Church actions
Church services such as baptism, confirmation, wedding and funeral are important anniversaries in life. IMI Church performs church services through and on behalf of the Church of Norway in Stavanger.
Baptism is one of the most beautiful acts we celebrate in the church. Here God welcomes us, makes us his children, and invites us into his kingdom – not because we have deserved it, but because he loves us and accepts us as we are.
When you register yourself or your child for baptism, we invite you to a conversation where we talk about what baptism means and how it is practiced at our church. You will receive both a theological and practical introduction, and room for questions.
Everyone is welcome to be baptized in IMI Church – regardless of age, background or church affiliation. We baptize children, youth and adults who have not been baptized before, and practice baptism on a Lutheran basis, with full immersion.
Confirmation time in IMI Church is an exciting journey characterized by community, good role models, and a meeting point with God.
We meet on Thursdays from 7–9 pm for teaching, discipleship groups, dinner and socializing. During the year there will also be an autumn weekend, Oslo tour and Impuls – events you will not soon forget.
You don't have to be a member of IMI Church, and many people start without knowing anyone before. There is room for you here – just as you are.
After the confirmation year (K1), you can continue to K2–K5, which are the year groups after confirmation. We also have pre-k for 8th graders that meet in parallel with the other Ks on Thursdays.

Would you like to get married in IMI Church? We are happy to arrange a personal and meaningful wedding ceremony.
The wedding ceremony usually takes place in our chapel and is conducted by one of our ordained priests. It is also possible to have an IMI priest perform the ceremony in another church, if possible – please contact us and we will see what is possible.

When someone we love passes away, we want to stand together in grief. At IMI Church, we arrange for a dignified and personal funeral, led by one of our ordained priests.
The funeral is usually held in our main hall or chapel, but it is also possible to have a priest from IMI Church lead the ceremony elsewhere, if that is more convenient.
