Donor opportunities

A generous family

In IMI Church, we often use the term family about our community. In a family, everyone contributes, often in different ways. Our church family consists of many generous people who give of their own gifts, talents, time, and resources to manage what God has given us in the best possible way. If you belong to our community, we consider you part of the IMI family.

Thanksgiving vs. fixed donor service

A few years ago, we made a choice to bless others than ourselves with all the offerings (collected) on Sundays. This has had enormous significance for others – and given us great joy! We still challenge each other in this through all but one of the offerings leaving the house. We therefore look at Sunday offerings as something we give on top of the regular donor/giving service. The principle is simple: if you belong to the congregation permanently, you will also be invited to give to the congregation permanently.

For the record: employees on finances have a duty of confidentiality on what is given by whom.

Why give?

God is not after our money, but our hearts (Matt. 6:19-24). Giving generously helps us so that we are not bound by money, makes it easier to trust in God, and allows for our money to have eternal significance.

Tithing is a biblical practice that we recommend, that is, to give 1/10 of all our income back to the house of God. Do not let this deter you from starting and giving a smaller share, or prevent you from giving more. You are still free to give what you want, at your own discretion and ability – the choice is up to you! (2nd Cor. 9:7-8).
