Small things done in love change the world!
Goodness is free. It's about you and I deciding to do practical Goodness to those around us.
Goodness is about people and communities in Norway deciding to make God's goodness available through practical kindness. Goodness is about people all over the country helping people who need a helping hand and care with everyday tasks.
Goodness can, for example, be about washing a car, mowing a lawn, cleaning a garage, hanging a lamp or painting a house – without expecting anything in return! Priority groups are:
Goodness is held for a week every year across the country to give something good back to our community. We believe that Goodness is an important part of our social responsibility. It will become a lifestyle for us and an important part of our culture throughout the year.
The story began in August 2006 in Stavanger when we held the Week of Goodness for the first time. It began with a desire to look outward towards the city we were a part of. We wanted to pass on to neighborhoods, districts and the community in general some of all the goodness we had been a part of. The first Week of Goodness was filled with everything from house painting to car washing solely to show kindness, and left its mark on the city from the first day.
We have a dream that Norway will be referred to as a country where Goodness is visible and available to all people simply by people daring to do small, generous acts towards others and each other.
Join the Goodness Movement that will change the world through small things done in love !
We at Godhet Norge believe that out of the organized grows the spontaneous. Out of the week we do Goodness together each year, everyday goodness grows. We get help with focus and new images of how we can bless others. Godhet Norge wants to be a driving force in creating a culture of goodness that influences and has significance for our family, our church, our neighborhood, our workplace, our school, our country and other nations. We need to practice Goodness to more easily see and exploit the opportunities in our everyday lives and make it a habit.
NKSS , New Generation and Goodness Norway has taken initiatives for kindness in schools and campuses.

The Goodness Effect is a book written by IMI Church's Senior Pastor Egil Elling Ellingsen (2019) that contains a lot of inspiring material based on the experiences IMI Church has had over the years with a focus on Goodness. The Goodness Effect also has a discussion plan linked to each chapter in the book, and can be used as a study plan both for those who want to facilitate Goodness Week, but also for others who are interested in this topic.
The Goodness Package consists of a collection of practical tools that can be used in the start and implementation of a Goodness Week, including suggestions for an annual cycle. The Goodness Package also contains materials that can be used throughout the year if the team/association wants to have a continuous focus on goodness in order to establish a goodness culture in the environment. The Goodness Package can be purchased for NOK 3,000 from GodhetNorge by contacting the general manager at godhet@godhet.no
Goodness has shown us that we can connect with and help people we didn't know before. We get to experience the joy of giving and meet gratitude and amazement that we want to help. The church community has been strengthened by our helping people together.
Organizing Godhet has created a practical culture of goodness in our congregation! Godhet Norway has made it very easy for us – we have received all the materials we need and have been able to share experiences from other places over the years!
Goodness has had a great impact on Tønsberg Free Church and has given us a tool to mean something to our city in a very concrete way. We have experienced that the congregation is strong and that the blessing back to the community is great. We have also seen the good ripple effects in Tønsberg. Many companies have contributed to Goodness Tønsberg because they want to help pass on goodness. This, in addition to the many testimonies from individuals about what Goodness has meant, means that we can truly agree with the statement "small things done in love change the world."
