IMI Guidance Center
Our offer is for you who want someone to talk to about what is happening in your life.
It can be good to talk honestly with someone about topics such as grief, self-image, fear or anxiety, broken dreams, faith and doubt or life crises. Guidance provides help to become aware of one's own feelings, thoughts and behaviour.
Through conversation with another person, it can be easier to find good and possible solutions to difficult choices or situations in life. The aim is to meet you in such a way that through conversation and intercession you get a clearer relationship with God, yourself and the people you have in your life.
We offer individual talks, couple talks, group talks, courses or prayer for the sick.
IMI Guidance Center works according to the values of love, care, recognition, generosity and growth. Here you will meet guidance counselors who are trained to show warmth, care and respect.
Our offer is open to everyone, regardless of life situation and outlook.
Around 30 volunteer guidance counselors are currently associated with the center. All of the guidance counselors have undergone or are undergoing training in the IMI Church's competence course for counselors. Several of the guidance counselors also have additional professional expertise with regard to counseling. Our guidance counselors are bound by confidentiality.
If it is deemed necessary, we will refer you to various treatment agencies.
Those who contact us are offered an intake interview. Here we map out your needs and what you want to talk to someone about. Here we enter into an agreement on guidance and you will be put in contact with your guidance counselor.
Conversations at the IMI Guidance center take place in the IMI Church's premises at Tjensvoll in Stavanger.
Conversations can take place both during the day and in the evening, by agreement with the general manager and your guidance counselor.

How much does the service cost?
Our service is free.

The IMI Guidance Center also arranges several useful courses on communication, maturing, financial management, guidance and self-understanding. More information about the courses and links to registration can be found under Life in the church .
